Man arrested in Montgomery following car, foot chase

A man has been arrested in Montgomery following a chase by car and on foot, police say.

Montgomery Police Department Sgt. Tina McGriff told Action 8 News that yesterday at about 12:15PM, police on routine patrol tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to be stolen in the 500 block of West Fairview Avenue.

McGriff said the driver refused to stop, and a pursuit began that ended after a brief foot chase where the suspect was taken into custody.

She said 32-year-old Anthony Williams, Jr., has been charged with first degree receiving stolen property. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
