Montgomery Students Gear Up for New School Year With Back-to-School Bash
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — With the start of the school year just days away, hundreds of students and parents gathered Saturday morning at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl for a back-to-school celebration.
Hosted by Montgomery Public Schools, the event offered students a variety of free school supplies, including clear backpacks, notebooks, pencils, binders and calculators. Children also had the chance to pick out new shoes, socks and personal hygiene items.
While waiting in line, families enjoyed free food, snow cones, and games — including tennis and bounce houses. Students also had the chance to meet and take photos with popular movie characters.
Many students said they’re excited to return to class this week, looking forward to reuniting with friends and meeting new teachers.
Montgomery Public Schools start classes on Tuesday, August 5.
