Autauga County school board gets new member
The Autauga County school board has appointed a new member to represent District 1.
Bradley Robbins has been sworn in following the resignation of Tracye Strichik, who become the executive director for the VOICES for Alabama’s Children non-profit.
Robbins has 15 years of post-secondary educational experience, having held several roles at Auburn University at Montgomery. In his current role as the Director of Career Development, he serves as the university’s subject-matter expert for student and alumni career development, including best practices for student career exploration, planning and readiness initiatives, workforce development issues, and information on the current landscape of employer/student networking and recruitment.
The Robbins family is heavily involved in the Prattville schools. He’s the husband of a veteran kindergarten teacher and is the father of a Prattville High School graduate and soon-to-be PHS senior.
“My family’s encouragement and support have inspired me to step into this role on the school board,” Robbins said. “I believe we all have a responsibility to ensure our students have the best opportunities to succeed, and I’m excited to contribute to that vision for our future.”
Mr. Robbins earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Management Concentration from Troy University in 1997, a Master of Business Administration with a Human Resources Management Concentration from Auburn University Montgomery in 2005, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Adult Education from Auburn University with an anticipated completion in 2026. In addition to his formal education, he has earned a Professional of Human Resources (PHR) Certification and completed the Auburn University at Montgomery Leadership Academy.
“On behalf of the Board of Education, I am thrilled to welcome Brad to our team,” Jamie Jackson, Autauga County Board of Education Chairman, said. “His passion for education and career development, along with his expertise in human resources, student services, organization development, and strategic planning, make him a great asset to our school district. Brad will undoubtedly make a positive impact on our schools.”
Robbins will take his District 1 seat at the August board meeting after being sworn in on July 31.
