MPD officer injured during domestic call

A Montgomery police officer was injured Friday after responding to a domestic situation.

It happened around 11:00 p.m. in the 1300 block of Finley Avenue. That area is near Carter Hill Road and South Union Street.

At the scene, a male suspect assaulted the officer. The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released.

The suspect, Ja’Wan McBride, was taken into custody and charged with 2nd degree assault.
