Rain chances rise this week, summer heat returns by next weekend
Cloud-cover was rather widespread for much of the day in many locations across central and south Alabama. Humidity was a bit higher than Saturday, which may have aided the formation of spotty afternoon showers across south-central Alabama. That rain lasted for only a short time. Meanwhile, high temperatures were only in the 80s again in most locations, well below average for early August.
By the early evening, our area was rain-free and Sunday night likely remains dry with a partly cloudy sky and low temperatures in the mid 70s. However, rain chances rise this week, especially on Monday and Tuesday. Showers and/or storms become scattered about each afternoon. However, some sunshine in rain-free locations may allow temperatures to warm into the upper 80s and even low 90s.
Rain coverage looks a little lower each day for the rest of the week, but not zero. Showers and storms still becomes widely scattered Wednesday through Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, it looks like summer heat returns, with high temperatures back in the mid 90s by next weekend. Showers and storms remain widely scattered each day through the middle of next week.
