California man dies in Auburn crash
A crash in Auburn has claimed the life of a California man.
Police say around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to reports of a commercial vehicle off the roadway near mile marker 56 on the southbound side of I-85.
Once they arrived, they found the vehicle approximately 40 to 50 yards off the roadway in the woods.
Investigators say due to the extensive damage of the cab, it took first responders some time to get to the victim.
First responders located the 66-year-old male victim dead inside the vehicle. His identity has not been released at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone who may have been traveling in the area and witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Auburn Police Department at (334) 501-3100.
