Date set Alabama House District 38 special election
Governor Kay Ivey has set the dates for the special election in Alabama House District 38.
The seat was previously held by Rep. Debbie Wood, who resigned earlier this year after her husband got a new job in Pensacola.
The special primary election will take place on Tuesday, October 21. If there’s a runoff, it will take place on Tuesday, November 18. The special general election is set for Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
The deadline for qualifying with major political parties will be Wednesday, August 20 at 5:00 p.m. The deadline for all independent candidates and/or minor parties is Tuesday, October 21 at 5:00 p.m.
House District 38 includes portions of Chambers and Lee counties.
