Former Staton Prison officer arrested on contraband charges

A former Staton Prison correctional officer has been arrested on contraband charges.

Today, the Alabama Department of Corrections says it arrested former Sergeant Delano Dailey following an investigation into the introduction of contraband into the prison, which is in Elmore County.

Dailey was taken to the Elmore County Jail and charged with promoting prison contraband in the first and second degrees.

ADOC says the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
