Montgomery’s Meals on Wheels celebrates five millionth meal delivery

Montgomery’s Meals on Wheels is celebrating the delivery of its five millionth meal.

Today, their team delivered the five millionth meal to Don Tomlin. He has been receiving meals for the past six years.

Tomlin says the service helps him save on his grocery bill. He says he knows to expect the meal to arrive and knows it will be good to eat.

Meals on Wheels Montgomery Alabama Metro Area has been in operation for more than 50 years, delivering food to homebound seniors across the area to fight senior hunger and isolation.

With the help of volunteers, donors, community partners and devoted staff, the organization currently delivers 450 hot, nutritious meals each weekday, along with performing wellness checks.
