Troy man killed in Dale County crash

A Troy man has been killed in a crash between a pickup and a tractor-trailer truck in Dale County.

Alabama State Troopers say 81-year-old Carroll Grant Hughes was driving the pickup, which hit the tractor-trailer truck driven by 24-year-old Jaden Christopher Dunwoody of Dothan.

Investigators say Hughes was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Dunwoody was injured and taken to a hospital in Ozark for treatment.

The wreck happened at about 7:35AM yesterday on U.S. Highway 231, about five miles south of Ariton.
