It’s the second major construction project on the campus in the past 30 years.
Construction of the new 50,000 square foot — Anthony J. Rane Hall is cause for celebration at MMI.
The new Math and Science Building — will feature modern classrooms and labs — a computer science and gaming area — and a lecture room that also serves as a storm shelter.
A $35 million dollar federal appropriation secured by former U.S. Senator Richard Shelby — is funding the construction project.
“This is a national treasure. It’s been here a long time. It’s a jewel, it’s important to this community. But it’s important to the nation,” said Shelby.
“Over 40 states are represented in the student body here. That says a lot.”
