8 ON YOUR SIDE: People in the U.S. can now get Ozempic for half-price, if you pay in cash.
Novo Nordisk, the maker of the diabetes drug, said with the discount, a month’s supply would cost just under $500.
The offer is for those who pay for medications on their own and don’t go through insurance.
President Trump has been pressuring drugmakers to lower costs, calling out popular but pricey GLP-1 drugs, which are used for diabetes and weight loss, noting they are much more expensive in the U.S. than in other countries.
Eli Lilly has also cut the price of its GLP-1 weight loss drug, Zepbound, for self-pay patients.
