ACTION 8 UPDATE: New arrest made in Montgomery shooting that left woman paralyzed

ACTION 8 UPDATE: An additional arrest has been made by Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office investigators in a shooting that left a Montgomery woman paralyzed.

District Attorney Azzie Oliver announced that Cheslea Jackson of Prattville has been charged with one count of assault in the first degree and two firing a gun into an occupied vehicle.

As Action 8 News has reported, on April 12, 2024, Amy Dicks was in her car along Atlanta Highway near Eastdale Mall when she was caught in the crossfire of multiple guns being fired. The shooting left Dicks paralyzed from the chest down.

Jackson is the sixth person who has been arrested and charged in the shootout. Two others face charges of first-degree assault and firing a gun into an occupied vehicle. Three are charged with firing a gun into an unoccupied vehicle.

Oliver said the investigation remains ongoing, and more arrests are likely to come.
