More clouds and some rain return through Labor Day weekend
Clouds returned to the sky in west Alabama Thursday morning, and likely spread across the rest of our area through the afternoon. Some rain also moved into west Alabama by the early afternoon. Given recent dry air in our area, showers may have trouble reaching the surface. However, the atmosphere gradually saturates to allow for rain across our area Thursday night into Friday morning.
Otherwise, high temperatures range from the mid to upper 80s Thursday. Rain may be fairly widespread across southwest Alabama Friday morning, with showers possible elsewhere by the afternoon. Due to rain and a mainly cloudy sky, high temperatures only range from the mid to upper 70s. Clouds and scattered showers linger through Sunday, though some sunshine Saturday and Sunday may allow for temperatures to warm into the mid and upper 80s.
Labor Day looks a bit drier with a partly cloudy sky and just isolated showers. Temperatures trend warmer, with highs near 90°. That looks like the case for the rest of next week, with low rain chances, a mix of sun and clouds, and high temperatures near 90°.
