Some clouds, some rain, and some sunshine Labor Day weekend
Friday morning was mostly cloudy to overcast across central and south Alabama. Rain was in the mix, mainly near and south of highway 80 and Interstate 85. That may be where most of the rain remains Friday afternoon. Temperatures remain cool as a result of widespread clouds and rain, with high temperatures just in the upper 70s to low 80s. Spotty showers remain possible Friday evening and night, with a mostly cloudy sky and lows in the upper 60s otherwise.
Labor Day weekend looks partly to mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and perhaps some storms. Saturday and Sunday feature the better chances for rain, but some sunshine in rain-free locations may allow temperatures to warm into the mid and upper 80s. Rain coverage looks a bit more isolated Monday. Temperatures could be near 90° as a result.
The first week of September looks drier and warmer, though models trended wetter on Friday for next Tuesday and Wednesday. Some days may also be sunnier, resulting in high temperatures closer to 90°. Low temperatures range from the mid to upper 60s. Another cold front may push through our area late next week, resulting in cooler and drier weather next weekend.
