Butler County Schools takes steps to help Greenville students succeed
The Butler County Board of Education is taking steps to help ensure students in Greenville are receiving adequate chances to learn and succeed within the school system.
Although most Butler County Schools received acceptable to exceptional scores on last year’s Priority Schools list, Greenville High School was the exception, receiving a 57.
Since those findings, the school system has made several administrative changes including the hiring of two new principals, for Greenville Middle School and Greenville High School.
Attention has also been placed on providing a more solid education foundation for students. With the understanding that preparation during middle school helps ensure proper learning in high school.
Each school now addressing issues such as discipline, student interests, attendance and creative learning.
GHS also implementing safety measures like metal detectors and clear bag policies give students peace of mind and the freedom to learn in a safe environment.
Schools are ranked by test scores taken during the previous school year under the Alabama Accountability Act.
