TRAFFIC ALERT: Bibb Graves Bridge in Wetumpka now open

Just in time for the weekend, the Bibb Graves Bridge in downtown Wetumpka has reopened.

The bridge had been closed to traffic since September 2 to repair damage from a truck hitting an arch on August 15.

ALDOT awarded the contract for repairs to Newell & Bush, Inc., out of Montgomery, who finished the job ahead of schedule.

The project was one of several happening in the River Region.

ALDOT says it appreciates the patience and cooperation of travelers in Wetumpka and the support from local law enforcement.
