Hot with sunshine, some clouds, low chances for rain this weekend
Friday was a hot September day across central and south Alabama. High temperatures were in the low 90s, with sunshine and no rain in most locations. However, a few showers and storms formed in southwest Alabama. A few may linger into the early evening, but likely fade away quickly after sunset. Friday night becomes mostly clear with lows in the mid 60s.
Our weekend weather looks similar to Thursday and Friday. High temperatures range from the low to mid 90s Saturday and Sunday. The sky remains partly to mostly sunny with isolated showers and storms each afternoon. Fall begins next week, but high temperatures remain in the low 90s Monday and Tuesday. Both days now look mostly sunny and mainly dry.
Rain chances rise late next week. It looks like rain coverage remains limited Wednesday, but increases Thursday and Friday. Longer-range models suggest a cold front may pass through Alabama by the end of next week. If that happens, next weekend could be mainly dry and slightly cooler. For now, our forecast reflects lower chances for rain Saturday and Sunday with high temperatures in the upper 80s.
