Montgomery Oyster Festival Serves Up Seafood, Music and History
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — A taste of the coast came to Old Alabama Town on Saturday as the Montgomery Oyster Festival returned for its third year.
Hundreds of people sampled fresh Alabama oyster dishes prepared by local and regional chefs. Live music was provided by Electric Blue Yonder and B-B Palmer.
As a special feature, Chef Wesley True — a two-time James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: South and a competitor on “Top Chef” and “Beat Bobby Flay” — served his own spin on the briny bivalves.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Landmarks Foundation and support historic preservation efforts in central Alabama.
