The Tropics Come Alive!

A frontal boundary will gradually push through our area and exit to the east of us late Friday.  There’s still the chance for scattered showers and t-storms until the front departs.  We’re on the backside of the boundary over the weekend.  Northerly winds kick in and our weather is looking mainly sunny and dry.

In the meantime, showers and t-storms will favor our eastern areas this evening.  We expect occasional heavy downpours along with lightning and gusty winds.  The rest of us will see a mostly cloudy sky with temps hovering in the lower 70s.

The cold front will push farther southward through the state Friday.  Additional showers and t-storms will continue to develop along and ahead of the frontal system.  The best chance for rain activity will be in our eastern areas. Back to the west, we expect a northerly wind flow to settle in and transport drier air into West Alabama.

We’re on the backside of the frontal system Friday night.  The drier air will spill across the rest of  our area and set us up for mainly dry weather conditions over the upcoming weekend.  A mostly sunny sky returns and we’re expecting highs temps in the mid 80s and lows lower 60s.
