ACTION 8 UPDATE: Several arrests made in Covington County shooting

ACTION 8 UPDATE: The Covington County Sheriff’s Office say several arrests have been made after a 16-year-old boy was shot in Red Level.

As Action 8 News has reported, the shooting happened in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 21. The teenager was shot at Hazelet Bridge in Red Level and was taken to a hospital in Florida for treatment.

Covington County Sheriff Blake Turman says one of those people arrested has been charged with attempted murder. Turman says that suspect is a juvenile, so his name isn’t being released at this time. He said the suspect is being charged as an adult.

The juvenile suspect was taken into custody yesterday and remains in custody.
