Brundidge man sentenced to federal prison for drug crimes
A Brundidge man has been sentenced to 12 and-a-half years in federal prison for drug-related crimes.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas says 34-year-old Michael Sanford was sentenced for conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Thomas says Lt. Carlton Bean of the sheriff’s office testified in court that he bought one ounce of meth from Sanford on two separate days. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration was also involved in the case.
“This was a huge win and a very substantial case for our citizens and law enforcement to get him off our streets and in prison,” Thomas said. “This sentencing stops him from selling drugs to so many in our county and surrounding areas.”
