Clyde May’s Distillery Nearing Completion
Clyde May’s, the official Alabama State Spirit company, is nearing completion of a multi million dollar bottling facility in Pike County designed to bring in tourism.
Clyde May began illegally producing and bottling moonshine in Bullock County in 1946 to help feed his family of 8. Now his grandson and family is continuing his dedication to spirits by opening a distillery in Pike County that they are lovingly calling the Big House.
The Big house features a restaurant, bar, retail store and plenty of outside space for families and events.
The state of the art facility will age, barrel and bottle whisky including bourbon on site a process that tourists can witness
Each Whisky produced is aged up to five years. The facility is set to open to the public in late 2025 to early 2026.
