Traffic Manager
WAKA-TV / Action 8 News (CBS/ABC/CW/MeTV) has an immediate opening for a Traffic Manager in Montgomery, AL! This key management role is responsible for the efficient scheduling and execution of all broadcast content, including commercials, and station promotions. Lead the traffic operations for four broadcast television stations across the River Region in Alabama’s State Capitol! You will report directly to the General Manager while providing support to Station Management in Administration, Operations, and Sales.
What you’ll accomplish as a Traffic Manager (Essential Duties):
- Working with a Traffic Coordinator for daily generation of commercial insertion and log formatting for 4 local stations
- Â Ensuring accurate placement of content with the daily broadcast schedules
- Multitasking with new sales orders and contracts and adjustments to existing logs
- Maintaining accurate broadcast station program schedules and formats across four stations
- Daily interaction with Local and National television professions
- Cross department collaboration with sales, engineering, master control, etc.
- Inventory control, database library management, broadcast automation, logistical issues
- Traffic/Programming tasks deemed necessary by management

What you’ll need as a Traffic Manager (Preferred Qualifications):
- A college degree in a related field is preferred
- In-depth Wide Orbit Traffic, Wide Orbit Program, or related Traffic Software knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of, and the ability to interpret, sales contracts
- Ability to comply with deadlines and perform under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers and an ability to learn new software quickly
- Meticulous data-entry skills
- Attention to detail
- Must be focused and organized
- Ability to work independently
- In-person attendance is required
