A Selma man has been killed in a crash that involved several other vehicles on U.S. Highway 80 in Lowndes County.

Alabama State Troopers say the wreck happened just after 3:30AM on Tuesday, October 21. They say 41-year-old Kenneth Watts was driving a car that was stopped on the highway because of being involved in a previous crash when it was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer truck driven by 24-year-old Timothy Burgett of Hope Hull.

State troopers say after Watts’ car was hit, it struck another car that was also stopped because it was involved in a previous crash. After that, Watts’ car hit another tractor-trailer truck that was stopped because of being involved in a previous crash.

Watts was pronounced dead at the scene. Burgett was also injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for medical treatment.

The crash happened in the White Hall city limits.

State troopers say there’s no other information available at this time.
