Pay It Forward: Candy Harris
Candy Harris is always helping someone.
“I nominated her because I’ve known her all my life and she does so many things in the community,” said Jennifer Hill. “She donates to the Montgomery Cancer Center and the Humane Society here in Montgomery and Elmore County. She has a nursing home blessing volunteers at Wesley Gardens and the gift shop. She does first choice. She donates to them and is one of my best friends.”
In fact, wherever there is a need, Harris is going to help fill it.
“God puts you in places where you need to help people. He opens doors. And I’m just very fortunate my husband is very patient about that, but He opens doors. Sometimes they pack the stuff all over the porch and with a note, ‘I know you will find a place for this.’ There is always a need in this town. There’s always a need,” said Harris.
For Harris, it’s about paying it forward wherever you are planted.
And she encourages others to do the same.
“Listen to what God puts in your heart. It could be someone in your church. It could be your neighbor. It could be the person behind you in the grocery store. You see them struggling with coins to pay for something, pay for it. He double blesses me when that happens,” said Harris.
