Veterans honored with parade in Tuskegee
The Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System continues its decades-long tradition of holding a Veterans Day Parade on its East Campus in Tuskegee.
With this being veterans month, CAVHCS says it’s making sure that veterans are recognized for their service and sacrifices.
Veterans living on campus were brought out to see the parade as the community honored them.
“This is one of the few parades that’s actually on a VA campus, that is actually a very rare thing, and so this is something that we’re glad to uphold that history and make sure that our have veterans here in Tuskegee and all around the community are recognized as they deserve to be,” CAVHCS Director Amir Farooqi told Action 8 News.
Next week, CAVHCS will participate in the city of Montgomery’s Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11th, which is the federal Veterans Day holiday.
This year, CAVHCS is celebrating the 85th anniversary of its facility on Perry Hill Road and the 102nd anniversary of its Tuskegee campus.
