City of Montgomery opening warming center, changing bus routes

The City of Montgomery is opening its warming center due to the sub-freezing temperatures that are expected.

The warming center will be open from 7PM tonight until 7AM on Tuesday. It is located at 1751 Congressman Dickinson Drive.

No pets are allowed.

Due to space constraints, the city says those wanting to donate items should reach out to Adena Kramer at communitydevelopmentstaff@montgomeryal.gov or call (334) 625-3730 for information. Currently, additional volunteers are not needed to staff the center. After hours, volunteers can contact Adena Kramer at (510) 725-2264 or the Montgomery County Emergency Management Agency at (334) 625-2339.

The M Transit bus service will operate on a modified schedule until tomorrow morning to assist those who need transportation to and from the warming center. There will be no transit charge during these times for transport to and from the Crump Center.

Monday evening, November 10, 2025, the M Transit Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center (Outbound) at 7:00 PM and arrive at the Crump Center at about 7:15 PM.

Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, the M Transit Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center (Outbound) at 5:30 AM and arrive at the Crump Center at about 5:45 AM.

Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, the M Transit Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) bus will return (Inbound) to the Crump Center at about 6:30 AM and arrive at the Downtown Intermodal Center at 7:00 AM.

Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, the M Transit Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) bus will depart the Downtown Intermodal Center (Outbound) at 7:00 AM and arrive at the Crump Center at about 7:15 AM.

Tuesday morning, November 11, 2025, the M Transit Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) bus will return (Inbound) to the Crump Center at about 8:15 AM and arrive at the Downtown Intermodal Center at 8:30 AM
