Alexander City police have arrested a Valley man for multiple burglaries and theft.

Sgt. Drew Machen tells Action 8 News that officers responded to a business Friday in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 280 on a possible break-in.

Once they arrived, they saw the front window of the business had been busted out and it appeared that someone had entered inside.

While on the scene, officers also learned that other businesses nearby in Alexander City, Jackson’s Gap and Kellyton had also been burglarized. Officers learned that a vehicle had been taken from one of the businesses as well.

Shortly after, deputies with the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate the driver of that vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on U.S. Highway 280.

Deputies pulled the vehicle over and arrested 32-year-old Kentavious Miles. He’s charged with three counts of 3rd degree burglary, two counts of 4th degree theft of property and one count of 1st degree theft of property.

Miles is currently in the Tallapoosa County Jail.
