Montgomery records 11th pedestrian fatality of 2025

A person has died after being hit by a car in Montgomery, making this the 11th such fatality in the city this year.

Montgomery police say at about 2:20AM Friday, November 21, they were called to the 1200 block of East South Boulevard. That location is near the Narrow Lane Road intersection.

That’s where they found 18-year-old Shelby McGhee, Jr., of Montgomery, who suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the driver who hit McGhee fled the scene before they arrived.

They have released no other information.
