Black Friday brings out shoppers to area stores

Plenty of shoppers worked off their Thanksgiving meals by hitting area stores for Black Friday sales.

The day after Thanksgiving traditionally marks the start of the Christmas shopping season and is the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States.

Many stores offer highly promoted sales and often open early.

Action 8 News headed to the Shoppes at EastChase in Montgomery this morning to talk to shoppers looking for Black Friday deals.

“I’m just happy to spend this time with my grandma, and hopefully I’ll run into some friends out here today,” Tracy Jones said.

“Saving lots of money. I go to college and so saving as much money as I can it’s a necessity, and so getting all the savings and getting all the deals,” Jessica Cord said.

“I enjoy coming to find the sales in person personally, because it give me a chance to see the product that I’m buying to interact with people and be social. It feels more festive to get out here and do this and it’s just a great way to start a morning after being hold up eating all day, I get my steps in,” Natalie Northcutt said.
