Cloudy, cool Monday; Widespread rain late Monday into Tuesday

Sunday was a cloudy and cool day, with light rain around throughout the day. Many locations only picked up a tenth of an inch of rain or less. However, Troy and Andalusia/Opp picked up around one-quarter to one-third of an inch of rain. Otherwise, the sky was overcast, with high temperatures only in the upper 50s to low 60s. Rain departed Sunday evening after a cold front pushed through our area. Sunday night remains cloudy and cool with lows in the 40s.

Monday looks cloudy and cool, with highs in the 50s to low 60s. Another round of rain arrives mainly Monday evening, becoming widespread and heavy at times Monday night into early Tuesday morning. This could be the soaking rain our area needs to really put a dent in the ongoing drought. Rain totals could range from 1-2 inches area-wide. Sunshine may return late Tuesday, with high temperatures only in the 50s. Tuesday night lows fall into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wednesday looks dry with sunshine, but clouds increase Thursday, with some rain possible during the day. More rain looks likely Friday, some of which may linger into next weekend. Although, our area may also trend drier next weekend, with some sunshine late Saturday and Sunday. However, temperatures likely remain cool through the first week and weekend of December, with highs in the low 60s Wednesday through Sunday.
