A Few Rounds Of Beneficial Rains This Week

We’re entering into a wet weather pattern and we could see some beneficial rains from two different systems this week.   The other thing we’re up against is below normal temps.  We’re only managing 50s for highs and a few nights around freezing.

In the meantime, we’re expecting a cloudy and wet overnight period. Rain is likely and rainfall could be rather generous for some.   We expect periods of moderate to heavy rain and some areas could see 1 to 2 inch rainfall, especially across Southeast Alabama.  This would be mainly south of the I-85 corridor.    The rain departs early but the clouds linger most of Tuesday.  A cold northwesterly winds kicks in and temps drop through the 40s most of the day. Much colder air settles in and we’re expecting upper 20s to lower 30s early Wednesday morning.

Midweek will be our chance to briefly dry out before the next round of rain moves into the area.  High pressure will slide overhead and help provide us a mostly sunny Wednesday.  Temps start out cold but do rebound into the mid 50s Wednesday afternoon.

The next rainmaker will quickly move into the area Thursday and we’re expecting periods of rain to be around through early Saturday. That’s a couple of days with cloudy and damp conditions.   More beneficial rains are possible. Temps will continue cool with highs only in the 50s and lows in the 40s.

We’re expecting to be on the backside of the rain activity by the latter half of the upcoming weekend. High pressure will return and we’re looking at a mainly sunny sky Sunday.  A dry and still cool weather pattern will be in play for the early half of next week.
