Alexander City man arrested on child pornography charges

Alexander City police say they’ve arrested a man on several counts of child pornography.

Lt. Drew Machen of the Alexander City Police Department says 44-year-old Donald Easley of Alexander City has been charged with two counts of distributing child pornography, six counts of possessing child pornography and one count of possessing a controlled substance.

Machen says on December 1, police got a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that a person had been transmitting obscene material involving minors.

He says a search warrant was executed at Easley’s house by police, the State Bureau of Investigation and other officials, who seized Easley’s electronic devices.

Easley was taken to the Tallapoosa County Jail where he awaits a bond hearing.
