Action 8’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive comes to another successful end
Thanks to all of you who donated, Action 8’s Magical Christmas Toy Drive has had another successful year.
Action 8 has held this toy drive for a dozen years. This year, the donated toys were once again put into the Magical Christmas Toy Vault, located at the Shoppes at EastChase, for everyone to see.
Today, the vault was emptied, with the toys being loaded onto a large truck to be sent to the Salvation Army of Montgomery. From there, the toys will be distributed to registered families just in time for Christmas.
More than 1,200 families will be able to receive toys this year, including some who were on a waiting list, hoping that donations would be strong.
“It’s over the top with support,” Captain Thomas Johnson of the Salvation Army of Montgomery said.
We can’t put on a toy drive this large without support from our partners. This year’s partners were The Shoppes at Eastchase, ASE Credit Union, Hawthorne Atchison Riddle, South University , Jack Ingram Motors, BlueCross BlueShield of Alabama and Servpro. We thank them for each going on a $1,000 shopping spree to help fill the vault, plus putting collection boxes out for people to drop off toys at their locations.
