Montgomery woman dies in Tuesday house fire

A Montgomery woman has died following a Tuesday morning house fire.

According to District Fire Chief K.R. Peoples, Montgomery Fire/ Rescue crews responded to a structure fire around 2:40A.M. in the 3600 block of Loxley Lane.

When firefighters arrived, they found a one-store home on fire. Crews worked to put out the fire and searched the home.

Firefighters found a victim dead inside the home. Chief People’s identified the victim as 56-year-old Ann Sledge.

No firefighters were injured in the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Bureau of Investigations.
