Autauga County Schools Superintendent lays out plan for schools

Autauga County Schools Superintendent Lyman Woodfin is sharing a report card on the school system with the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Yesterday, he spoke at a chamber meeting, telling members about the school system’s improved grade on the state report card. It’s now an 87, the highest grade since the COVID  pandemic and the second-highest score since the state began tracking.

Woodfin said the report card shows strong and steady growth across many schools.

He encouraged Autauga County residents to participate in the “We Give 180” campaign. A donation of one dollar a day is given during the 180 days of the school year to help fund the school system.

“I’m very thankful to the chamber to partner with us on the Give 180 program. It will really help our teachers with the grant program. It helps us give them what they need in the classroom,” Woodfin told Action 8 News.

Woodfin also talked about potential plans of a dual enrollment program with Central Alabama Community College.
