Funeral arrangements have been announced for a former WAKA Action 8 News sports reporter killed earlier this week.

Visitation for 38-year-old Christina Chambers will be held at the Cullman Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. A rosary will immediately follow.

Her funeral will take place Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Cullman at 11 a.m.

The bodies of Chambers and her husband, 41-year-old Johnny Rimes, Jr., were found Tuesday at their home in Hoover.

Hoover police say they were found unresponsive after being discovered by a family member.

The couple’s 3-year-old child was located in the home, but was unharmed.

Hoover police say the couple died in an apparent murder-suicide.

Chambers worked for WAKA from June 2015 to November 2015 before joining WBRC Fox 6 News in Birmingham until leaving her full-time role in July 2021. She continued to freelance with the station after.

A GoFundMe has been created in Christina’s honor to raise funds to help support her son’s educational expenses. You can donate by clicking here.
