Spring-Like Warmth Departing Soon
Our spring-like warmth continues to hang on and it will stick around through Sunday. Old man winter has been lurking and a full return to winter is in store for early next week. We will see a big drop in temps. High temps in the 70s will be replaced with 40s and 50s.  Morning temps are heading below freezing again!
In the meantime, we expect another round of clouds and fog Saturday morning. Temps will start out in the upper 50s and warm into the mid 70s during the afternoon hours. We get a repeat of this Sunday. A strong cold front will enter the state late Sunday night. Looks like some light rain will accompany the frontal system. Rainfall amounts are expected to be light and probably under a quarter of an inch. We don’t see anything strong or severe with this system either.
We’re on the backside of the front Monday and that’s when the much colder air will be spilling into the state. Temps will start out around 60 and fall from there. We expect a clearing sky and temps plunging into the upper 20s by Tuesday morning. The coldest air will settle over us Tuesday into Wednesday. We may not even reach 50 degrees for a high temps Tuesday. Tuesday night will be the coldest temps with mid 20s likely.
The really cold air begins to retreat as we head into New Year’s Day. We start out in the upper 20s but do recover into the upper 50s to lower 60s Thursday afternoon.  Looks like temps will return to level about average for this time of the year.
