Millbrook police say a Troy man has been arrested after a pursuit that started over taillights that weren’t working.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said an officer had noticed a U-Haul truck traveling on Highway 14 near Kelley Boulevard yesterday that had non-working taillights. Johnson says the officer tried to get the driver to stop, but he kept driving west into Prattville.

Prattville police were alerted about the pursuit as the truck got onto McQueen Smith Road, toward U.S. Highway 82. As the truck got to the intersection, Johnson says Prattville officers used a spike strip to deflate several of the truck’s tires. He says the driver kept going until finally stopping in the 1300 block of U.S. Highway 82.

Johnson says the driver, 26-year-old Iziah Giles was arrested on a charge of attempting to elude. He is being held on a $1,000 bond in the Elmore County Jail.
