Covington County teen named 2026 Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama

A high school senior from Covington County was just named as this year’s Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama in Montgomery.

The Class of 2026 program started Friday night at Frazer Church and wrapped up this evening after all 42 contestants displayed their unique talents and completed in scholastics, interview, fitness and self expression.

This year’s Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama is Mia Baumgartner.

Baumgartner attends Andalusia High School. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Alabama to study entertainment law.

Baumgartner will go on to represent Alabama in the national competition in Mobile this summer.
