Montgomery opening warming shelter due to expected cold temperatures
The Montgomery Warming Center will be open overnights and mornings through Saturday, January 31, due to the extremely cold temperatures that are expected in our area.
The Warming Center is located at the Crump Center, at 1751 Congressman Dickinson Drive.
It will be open starting Sunday, January 25, through Saturday, January 31. The center will open at 7PM each night and close the next morning at 11AM. People in need of shelter are welcome during those times. No pets are allowed. The dates and times may change depending on weather conditions.
The City is working with the M Transit System to provide bus service along Route 8 (Gunter Park/Eastdale Mall) and will post the schedule at the Warming Center and on the Montgomery City/County Emergency Management Agency’s Facebook page. There is no bus service on Sunday, January 25.
The City of Montgomery and the Emergency Management Agency’s cold weather plan provides a warming center when temperatures are forecast to be below 32 degrees for 4 hours or more.
