Montgomery firefighters battle two fires
Montgomery Fire/Rescue units have battled two residential fires in less than 24 hours.
First, at about 10PM last night, they were called to a one-story home in the 2600 block of Essex Place. They found flames and heavy smoke coming from the middle and back of the home.
A search found no one inside. Investigators say neighbors told them that the occupants’ vehicles were not present at the time.
The Division of Investigation is currently examining the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
Then, just before 6:30AM today, firefighters responded to a fire in a two-story residential building in the 700 block of South Capitol Parkway. They saw smoke and flames when they arrived.
Firefighters deployed multiple hand lines to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
