Man charged with arson in Montgomery house fire investigation

A Montgomery man has been arrested and charged with arson after Montgomery Fire/Rescue says he admitted to starting a fire at a vacant home Monday night.

According to District Fire Chief K.R. Peoples, firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 1800 block of Plum Street at around 10:03 p.m. on January 26th.

When crews arrived, they found a one-story vacant home with fire damage.

During the investigation, 35-year-old Jamie German was identified as a suspect. According to Peoples, German was interviewed and admitted to starting the fire inside the home.

German has been charged with arson in the second degree.
