Notasulga man facing child sex charges

A Notasulga man is facing child sex-related charges, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

33-year-old Dorisel Lee Briscoe is charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child younger than 12 and one county of sodomy in the first degree. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing, the sheriff’s office says.

Investigators say last night, they got a call reporting the sexual abuse of a child that happened at a home on Lee County Road 217 in Notasulga. They say they collected evidence that led to Briscoe’s arrest.

Investigators say the child was immediately taken into care and was examined by medical authorities as is standard procedure in this type of investigation. They say Briscoe isn’t related to the victim.
