Special viewing of chris’ hot dogs documentary

Many people came out to the Capri Theatre in downtown Montgomery to see a special viewing of a documentary about the famous Chris’ Hot Dogs on Sunday.

The documentary has been in the making for two years. Dozens of people came for the showing to see all the history behind the famous restaurant that is a huge staple of Montgomery. After the showing, guests were allowed to have a Q & A with the directors of the documentary to find out more about the filmmaking of it.

Many others also shared their favorite memories of Chris’ Hot Dogs that included times with their family or running into a celebrity. Head Manager of Chris,’ Eleanor Williams, and former co-owner, Gus Katechis, among others, were all in attendance.

“It was touching. It was a story about my father and grandfather, so it was really fun and good to watch, but kind of a little sad. It was a really neat showing about what all Chris’ Hot Dogs is about for the city of Montgomery and the citizens of the city,” said former co-owner, Gus Katechis.

“The documentary was outstanding. There are no words to describe how good the documentary was they did for Chris’ today, so it’s been a blessing, and thank God for that,” said head manager at Chris,’ Eleanor Williams.

The directors of the documentary are hoping to get it to streaming platforms in the future.
