Woman dies in Montgomery house fire
Montgomery firefighters worked a house fire early Friday that claimed the life of a woman.
It happened around 6:30 a.m. at a home in the 600 block of South Panama Street. The location is just off Highland Avenue.
Once firefighters arrived, they found the home showing heavy smoke and flames.
Firefighters initiated an attack and after conducting a primary search, they found a female victim, identified as 23-year-old Alayna Lasley. Lasley was pronounced dead on the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
