Bond set at $1 million for mother of missing child in Enterprise
Bond has been set at $1 million for the mother of a missing two-year-old girl in Enterprise.
Police say Adrienne Reid is the only suspect in the disappearance of Genesis Nova Reid. Prosecutors say she is a flight risk and has hidden or destroyed evidence.
The little girl was reported missing early Monday morning, police say. She was last seen at a home at 201 Apache Drive and had been wearing pink Minnie Mouse pajamas. She was reported missing from her bed.
“The $1 million cash bond is high, but right now, the person in the Coffee County Jail, Adrienne Reed, is the only person who knows where Genesis Reed is, and so we wanted to ensure that we know where she is and, I can’t get into why, but we do believe that if she were able to post bond that she is a flight risk,” Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox says.
Enterprise police charged 33-year-old Adrienne Reid with false reporting to law enforcement authorities, which is a felony, following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the initial missing-child report.
According to police, Reid reported her daughter missing at approximately 3:10AM on Monday, February 16, stating the child was missing and the front door of their home was open.
The initial search of the surrounding area did not produce any information regarding the child’s whereabouts. As the investigation progressed, detectives identified inconsistencies in the information provided, prompting a more intensive investigation, police say.
The Enterprise Police Department says it wants to speak to anyone who knows where the girl was in the past 30 days.
