Man charged with rape in Opelika

A man has been charged with first-degree rape in Opelika.

Police say on Saturday, February 14, they were called to a home in the Pleasant Circle area, which is near Pepperell Parkway, on a report of a possible rape.

Police say before they arrived, 19-year-old Mar’Quavious Jamon Miller had fled the home on a bicycle. Officers got statements from family members of the alleged victim, who they say is a juvenile.

Police say they found Miller in the area of S. Long Street and York Avenue. He was taken into custody and charged.
