An early Saturday morning multi-vehicle crash leaves one woman dead
According to ALEA, the crash happened on Alabama 123, 7 miles northeast of Hartford, in Geneva County.
The multi-vehicle crash happened at approximately 7:50 a.m., Saturday, when 24-year-old Veronica Garcia-Mata, of Hartford, struck another vehicle driven by a 17-year-old.
After the initial collision, Garcia-Mata then struck another vehicle driven by a 73-year-old woman from Brundidge, Alabama.
Garcia-Mata was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old was not injured in the crash, and the 73-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
That is the only available information at this time as ALEA continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
